Non-Conformance or NCs represent process gaps and are a direct indicator of the weaknesses that exist in the implementation of a business excellence model.
The end-objective of an organizational program for the implementation of a business excellence model is two-fold:
1. Minimize the first time occurrence of NCs, at least the ones that are severe or major in nature
2. Prevent the second and subsequent recurrence of NCs, at least the ones that are severe or major in nature
NCs are a way for an organization to view how well the processes and practices have got ingrained into the organization's DNA.
