CMMI Certification

Use of the term CMMI Certification is actually not correct, going by strict technical considerations. Due to the huge popularity of ISO Certifications, however, the term CMMI Certification has also come into popular use. Instead of CMMI Certification, it is recommended to use the right term – CMMI Appraisal. Appraisal means investigating an organization’s processes and practices to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses against a reference model. CMMI Appraisals are performed using SCAMPI (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement). Note- Searching for the string ‘CMMI Certification’ in Google returns a long list of search results which shows how popular the term ‘CMMI Certification’ is.
