Lean Six Sigma

Lean Six Sigma (LSS), is the application of Lean philosophy to Six Sigma programs to bring in added focus on work-flow optimization (by reducing "wastes" in a process).

LSS combines the best of both the excellence frameworks - Lean and Six Sigma - to offer a complete package for driving process improvement.

-Reducing process variation (higher product quality)
-Optimizing process flow (reduced cycle time)

In a generic sense, Six Sigma can be extended to address the areas that are targeted by Lean. Six Sigma can easily address problem that involve reducing delivery time (process average) and improving the delivery consistency (process variation).Lean, however, adds certain tools and techniques that make the Six Sigma tool-set richer and more powerful.
