MBNQA stands for Malcolm Balridge National Quality Award. MBNQA is not about how to become better at doing business, it's rather about what characteristics you would display if you are a successful business. Malcolm Balridge, as it is also commonly known as, provides key characteristics of successful organizations.
The characteristics of MBNQA can be divided into two categories:
1. Those that pertain to "Means" of doing business. This category includes factors like human capital management, process management, etc. which denote the means to business success.
2. Those that pertain to "End" of doing business. This category includes business results which represents business success or failure, as the case may be.
The award is based on a 1000 point score system. The biggest strength of MBNQA is probably a strong focus on Business Results.
