ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CMMI

Excellence achieved from adopting a proven model or framework (like ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CMMI, etc.) is a preferred approach amongst the corporates the world over.

When excellence is driven based on a standard framework it tends to be systematic and has higher probability of achieving the desired business results.

Here's a nutshell view of these three frameworks. For more details on these frameworks, visit the websites of ISO (for ISO 9001 and ISO 27001) and SEI (for CMMI).
  • ISO 9001 - QMS (Quality Management System) - provides a generic framework for establishing, using and continually improving the practices relevant to the business context
  • ISO 27001 - ISMS (Information Security Management System) - provides a generic framework for securing and managing business data/information and information storage/processing systems
  • CMMI - Capability Maturity Model Integration - provides guidance on the following:
    • Development and maintenance of systems (CMMI-DEV)
    • Acquisition and integration of outsourced systems (CMMI-ACQ)
    • Design and provisioning of services (CMMI-SVC)
